ABSTRACT
We present the case of a 75-year-old patient with well-controlled type 2 diabetes who was diagnosed with a severe clinical course of opportunistic Aeromonas sobria bacteraemia complicated by lower extremity paraplegia and the cauda equine syndrome. The infection mechanism or infection initiation date were impossible to determine. No other illnesses connected with impairment of immunity were diagnosed.
